ADDING SMART+ WIFI PLUGS AND MULTI POWER SOCKET

a) Auto scan mode

A new SMART+ WiFi plug or a multi power socket is in fast-flashing mode (previously known as ez mode and hereafter referred as fast-flashing mode) when you switch it on, flashing around twice per second. To connect it, tap “+” button on the particular home screen page where you want to add the device, and then select “add device”. Now press the button “start automatic search” shown on the screen. The next screen will show the devices that are available in the network. You can select and add the devices shown individually by tapping the “add” button. Alternatively, for complete integration, you can also select the “add all” button shown at the top of the list. In the next screen, select the WiFi router with 2.4 GHz network and enter the corresponding password with which you want to connect your devices. If you have multiple WiFi routers at your home, then you can select the WiFi from “change WiFi network” as well. After a device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “the device is successfully added”.

b) Manual adding mode

If you cannot find the desired product with above mentioned steps, then you can also add it manually with “add manually” button mentioned at the bottom of the screen.
To do this, set it to fast-flashing mode if it has not already been set and disconnect the plug / multi power socket from the power supply. Now select the device category tab “WiFi devices”. Then select the category “socket”. In the next screen, select the WiFi router with 2.4 ghz network and enter the corresponding password with which you want to connect your devices. If you have multiple WiFi routers at your home, then you can select the WiFi from “change WiFi network” as well. Now power on the device. Select the option of fast flashing, if the device is flashing around twice per second, if not then select slow flashing for a flashing around once per two seconds. For fast-flashing mode, in the next step, a search will be carried out for the nearby devices. After the device is found, then it will be registered on the cloud, and it will be initialized. After a device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “the device is successfully added”. If connection isn’t possible in fast-flashing mode, you can try establishing a connection in slow-flashing mode (previously known as ap mode and hereafter referred as slow-flashing mode). For slow flashing, you need to connect with the device hotspot. You are now requested to connect the smartphone to the hotspot (LDV smart+-xxxx) provided by the plug. After tapping on "connect with hotspot", the WiFi of the smartphone must be connected to the hotspot (LDV smart+-xxxx) of the plug via the WiFi settings of the smartphone, you need to confirm with the “yes” button that the connection was successful. In the next step, a search will be carried out for that device. After the device is added successfully, then a message will be displayed that “the device is successfully added”.

The plugs / multi power socket can be switched from fast-flashing mode to slow-flashing mode or vice-versa by pressing and holding the button on the plug for 5 seconds. In the app as well, the “pairing mode” can be switched accordingly by tapping the “change adding mode” button.

c) Product functions

Tap one of the plug icons to display the device screen to control its functions. Different functions are displayed depending on the model and respective features of the plug.

  • Electricity consumption: to display the electrical consumption of the device plugged in. You can check the energy consumption per hour, per day and per month for the last months just by clicking on the electricity consumption displayed. To calculate the money spent, you need to input the price per kWh by clicking on "Price/kWh." You can also view the complete monthly overview by clicking on the chart under "Monthly Overview" or the annual overview by clicking on the chart under "Yearly Overview" and download it as a .CSV file.
    The hourly consumption can only be displayed for the last 7 days. The daily consumption can only be displayed for the last 365 days.There is no display limit for monthly consumption.
    It is important to note that the power consumption of a product is always calculated with the multiplication of current, voltage and the power factor (the phase difference between the voltage and the current: this can vary from 0.5 to 1.)
    Power = u * i * cos(φ)
    Where u is the voltage, i is the current and cos(φ) is the power factor of the device.
  • Electricity generation (for the solar plug): To display the energy generation of the connected device. You can check the energy generated per hour, per day, per month for the last months by simply clicking on the displayed power generation. Additionally, you can see the saved CO₂-equivalent and the saved money for the last 365 days per month. To calculate the money saved, you need to input the price per kWh by clicking on "Set Price/kWh." You can also view the complete monthly overview by clicking on the chart under "Monthly Overview" or the annual overview by clicking on the chart under "Yearly Overview" and download it as a .CSV file. The generated hourly power can only be displayed for the last 7 days. The generated daily power can only be displayed for the last 365 days. There is no display limit for monthly generation.
  • Time schedule: to set a time schedule for turning the plug on/off.
  • Timer: to set a countdown for switching on/off the plug automatically after a defined time has expired.
  • Fixed time cycle: to switch on/off the plug according to a fixed time cycle.
