LEDVANCE has equipped several sports facilities in Torres de Cotillas, Spain, with innovative LED lighting solutions that combine lighting quality perfectly tailored to the respective conditions with high energy savings and low maintenance requirements. 

The small town of Torres de Cotillas near Murcia operates several sports facilities in its municipal area -including two football pitches, two tennis courts and the Mirella Belmonte sports hall. Their lighting was clearly inadequate and no longer met the required efficiency and quality standards for modern sports facility lighting. Against this background, the local authority was looking for a lighting solution that would combine very high lighting quality and efficiency with low installation and maintenance costs, tailored to the local conditions of the individual sports facilities.

LEDVANCE designed a lighting project with solutions that adapt to these requirements and allow the municipality to host various competitions and disciplines. The excellent quality of the LED luminaires and their innovative design were key factors in this decision, as well as the corporate focus on sustainability, with efficient solutions that promote energy savings and responsible consumption. LEDVANCE designed the lighting for the football pitches and tennis courts with FLOODLIGHT MAX 600 W high-power floodlights and the sports hall with HIGHBAYGen 3 LED luminaires.

LEDVANCE's lighting solution for the project offers a number ofcompetitive advantages thanks to the performance of each of the products selected: the 600W Floodlight MAX is designed to produce no flickering or glare (ULOR% when mounted at 0 degrees tilt) and to reduce maintenance costs thanks to its 100 000 hourlifetime. The High Bay Gen 3 canopy, meanwhile, has a lifetime of up to 80 000 hours and savings of up to 60% compared to conventional highbayluminaires.Together, they allow the municipality to offer first class lighting while saving on electricity bills 

LEDVANCE has been commissioned by the municipality of Torres de Cotillas to develop and realise new LED-based lighting concepts for two football pitches, two tennis courts and the municipal sports hall. With coordinated designs, these adapt ideally to the external surroundings of the facilities, optimise the quality of light with very high luminous intensity, flexible dimming and low glare and alsosignificantly reduce the costs for operation and maintenance with energy savings of up to 90 % and a service life of up to 100 000 hours.
