the challenge

The executive committee of the football club wanted to modernize the old lighting of their football pitch. The football pitch has 10 floodlights and each had a combination of sodium discharge lamps and a 2500W halogen reflector. A lighting project was calculated, which is based on the ČSN EN 12193 standard for lighting sports grounds, but only for training purposes, which are sufficient for the club at the moment. If the field were to host professional matches, the lighting standard is stricter.

the SOLUTION

LEDVANCE Floodlight Performance luminaires with an input of 290 W, a high luminous efficiency of up to 140 lm/W, asymmetric optics (radiation angle 55x100°), with a light color temperature of 4000 K and IP66 protection were used. The luminaire has a robust black aluminum body with tempered glass and can be operated in a temperature range of -30 to +50°, which is essential for outdoor use. The existing position of the columns was used, which is a usual requirement in these projects, and the luminaires were replaced 1:1 with LEDVANCE LED reflectors. The luminaire distributes the light very homogeneously and with a low degree of glare. If the luminaire is installed with zero tilt, no light escapes in the opposite direction of lighting and the luminaire does not generate unnecessary light smog in the upper half-space.
