LEDVANCE has equipped the Saba Bamsa Plaça Urquinaona underground car park in Barcelona with DAMP PROOF HOUSING luminaires in combination with modern LED T8 TUBES, setting new standards in terms of lighting quality, energy management and ease of maintenance.

the CHALLENGE

Thanks to its central location in the heart of Barcelona, the Saba Bamsa Plaça Urquinaona underground car park is traditionally one of the busiest car parks in the city. The operator, Saba Bamsa, planned to replace the old lighting of the car park levels consisting of traditional fluorescent tubes with a modern LED lighting solution that would improve the quality of light and save energy costs with minimal installation effort.

the SOLUTION

Saba Bamsa decided to commission LEDVANCE to modernise the lighting in the Urquinaona underground car park. The decisive factor was that LEDVANCE's concept was best able to integrate the customer's specific requirements into a lighting solution that was both innovative and cost-orientated. Accordingly, the existing lighting was replaced with 50 DAMP PROOF HOUSING luminaires equipped with 50 dimmable T8 LED tubes, which, thanks to DALI technology, enable the LED tubes to be controlled and monitored much more efficiently.

the BENEFITS

Compared to conventional fluorescent lamps, the dimmable LED TUBE T8 EXTERNAL reduces energy consumption significantly, while demand-based control of the lighting via DALI technology enables further savings. With a luminous flux of 2 400 lm and a luminous efficacy of 160 lm/W, the LED T8 Tubes ensure significantly better lighting conditions on the car park levels and therefore also increase comfort and the feeling of safety for users. The pre-wired DAMP PROOF HOUSING luminaires also impress with their quick and easy installation and are a particularly sustainable solution with a robust housing and easily replaceable light sources. And a five-year guarantee and a rated service life of up to 50 000 hours (L70/B50 at 25 °C) for the LED T8 tubes also reduce maintenance effort and costs.

LEDVANCE modernised the lighting in the Saba Bamsa Plaça Urquinaona underground car park in the centre of Barcelona for Grupo Saba. The conventional fluorescent tubes were replaced with DAMP PROOF HOUSING luminaires and fitted with dimmable LED T8 tubes. The new lighting solution increases comfort and the feeling of safety for users with a significantly improved quality of light and reduces energy and maintenance costs thanks to the high efficiency and long service life of the dimmable LED T8 tubes and DAMP PROOF HOUSING luminaires which work together perfectly.
