Illuminating Change: LEDVANCE’s Third Sustainability Report Highlights Progress in Innovation and Digital Transformation

This year's report plays a key role in aligning with the upcoming standards of the European Union and is built on a significantly broader data foundation than in previous years. For the first time, the report includes all LEDVANCE entities worldwide, greatly enhancing the validity and depth of the results. It also incorporates a wider range of emissions categories, enabling a more accurate picture of greenhouse gas emissions and establishing 2024 as the base year for the company’s climate strategy and decarbonization roadmap. In 2024, LEDVANCE expanded its global sustainability team. The division's leadership now encompasses safety, environmental protection, health, and occupational safety – emphasizing the company’s holistic approach to sustainability.
Advancing Renewable Energy and the Circular Economy
LEDVANCE continues to contribute to a more sustainable future, for example by reducing CO₂ emissions during the production and use of its products. The LEDVANCE Renewables portfolio – featuring solar panels, inverters, and battery storage – offers an integrated energy solution for both residential and commercial use. The company has also advanced its EVERLOOP product range, which focuses on circularity by enabling the easy replacement of critical components.
Jue Wang, Executive Senior Vice President at LEDVANCE, states: “Our progress in sustainability shows that we’re committed not only on a technological level but also socially.
Through innovation, creativity, and passion, we’re delivering the lighting solutions our customers want while helping to build a more sustainable future.”
Driving Digital Transformation and Social Impact
With the “Paper to Digital” initiative launched in 2024 and set for implementation in 2025, LEDVANCE is replacing printed product documentation with digital formats. This shift conserves resources while giving customers streamlined access to essential product information.
In May 2024, LEDVANCE established company-wide sustainability goals for human resources for the first time. These targets focus on diversity and inclusion, workplace conditions, lifelong learning, and pay equity. A newly launched e-learning hub supports continuous development for employees and helps them adapt to a rapidly evolving work environment.
Andreas Adam, Head of Global Sustainability at LEDVANCE, commented: “Light has the power to make a difference – that’s what inspires us every day. With innovative solutions, we aim to drive positive environmental and social change – for our employees, our supply chain partners, and our customers.”
