First wave of all-new lamps and luminaires with at least 40 percent recycled plastics to be available in stores and online as of Mid-November.
With the launch of its new NATURELOOP product range, LEDVANCE presses ahead with its LEDVANCE LOOP concept of transforming the lighting industry into a greener one. The all-new lamps and luminaires are made of at least 40 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics based on the plastic content of the product. Also, less CO2 is released during production compared to previous products. The first luminaires from the range are damp proof models as they mostly consist of plastics and thus offer the biggest opportunity for replacement with PCR materials. The six new products will be available in stores and online from January 2024. Before that, customers will be able to select from 20 new lamp types, coming to stores and to the LEDVANCE online shop in Mid-November.
As part of the first wave of its new NATURELOOP product range, LEDVANCE is launching 20 OSRAM labeled lamps. The LED Classic NATURELOOP lamps for general lighting purposes in private and public areas feature housing and diffusors made of at least 40 percent PCR plastics. They cover replacement wattages from 40W to 100W with a luminous flux of 470 lm up to 1521 lm. As of Mid-November, they will be available in stores and in the LEDVANCE web shop in three shapes with 2700K and 4000K color temperatures.
Additionally, the first wave of NATURELOOP products includes six damp proof luminaires that are sold under the LEDVANCE brand. The Submarine NATURELOOP features housing, diffusor and clips made of at least 40 percent PCR plastics. The IP65 protected luminaires feature a new look with their stained white color appearance. They are launched as single or double versions with 7W (2x7W), 13.5W (2x13.5W) and 20W (2x20W) respectively as well as a luminous flux between 110 lm and 6200 lm and a color temperature of 4000K. The luminaires will be available in retail and online from January 2024.
“In line with our overall sustainability endeavors under the LEDVANCE LOOP umbrella, we took a critical look at our products to see if it is technically possible to use recyclable materials for them. Our goal is to reduce the use of new plastics and increase the recycling rate in our manufacturing process,” says Sebastian Schweissgut, Head of Product & Portfolio Management RESIDENTIAL EU-W at LEDVANCE. “We are excited to see customers’ reactions to our all-new product range of more sustainable lamps and luminaires and look forward to announcing more products soon.”
