Garching, Germany, 12. September 2024 – LEDVANCE, a leading supplier of general lighting solutions, has published its second sustainability report. Following last year’s initial report, the company has continued to drive forward its business strategy with regard to providing sustainable products and services. LEDVANCE is introducing new product ranges, reducing CO2 levels associated with transport and logistics, and improving demand planning with artificial intelligence (AI).
Milestones for LEDVANCE’s sustainability agenda in 2023 were the launch of several new initiatives and product lines aimed at building a more sustainable and fair future. LEDVANCE Renewables, a new business division, offers integrated and sustainable solutions for both residential and commercial customers. The portfolio features photovoltaic panels, inverters and batteries. LEDVANCE also announced the rollout of LEDVANCE LOOP, a new sub-brand encompassing sustainability efforts and measures across the company, in 2023.
Jue Wang, Executive Senior Vice President at LEDVANCE: “Sustainability is not a destination, but a continuous journey and we are dedicated to comprehensively reshaping our practices from top to bottom. Environmental protection, ethical business practices and expanding our circular economy are at the heart of our decision-making processes. From 2025 onwards, our company will be subject to the provisions of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and our sustainability report represents the first step towards complying with these new standards.”
Under the umbrella of the LEDVANCE LOOP sub-brand, the two new product ranges, EVERLOOP for professional customers and NATURELOOP for consumers, are incremental to LEDVANCE’s goal of eliminating waste and expanding the lifespan of products. EVERLOOP offers a range of innovative products that enable professional customers to conveniently replace certain components of a luminaire, thereby maximizing the lifespan of the product and reducing waste. The NATURELOOP product line caters to consumers and targets the plastic parts of products by sourcing at least 40 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials.
Andreas Adam, Head of Global Sustainability at LEDVANCE: “We strongly believe that light has the power to make a difference in reaching the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. We are dedicated to pursuing business strategies that address climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss, as well as safeguarding and improving the lives of our employees, those involved in our supply chain, and all people around the world who use our products and services.”
