Garching, May 08, 2025 – Walking onto the pitch, hand-in-hand with professional football players – this is a dream come true for many football-loving children. LEDVANCE, one of the world’s leading providers of general lighting, recently made that dream a reality for eleven boys and girls from the Caritas Foster Home St. Vinzenz in Landshut.

As part of a long-standing partnership, LEDVANCE supports the Caritas Foster Home St. Vinzenz. This support is not only given through financial and product donations, but also by organizing unforgettable experiences for the children. A recent highlight was when eleven boys and girls had the opportunity to serve as the player mascots (children that lead the players to the pitch before the game) at a SV Werder Bremen home match. LEDVANCE is an official partner of SV Werder Bremen until 2027 and is responsible for planning and implementing the new LED floodlight system at the club’s iconic Weser Stadium.

“We are thrilled that Werder Bremen invited us to nominate player mascots as part of our partnership. In line with our brand core ‘Power Through Light’, we aim to inspire young people and create moments of joy, just as light brings joy to life,” says Andreas Adam, Head of Sustainability at LEDVANCE.

The company’s relationship with the St. Vinzenz Foster Home goes back to 2019 and has since been expanded significantly. Alongside an annual Christmas donation campaign amongst employees – traditionally matched by the company’s management – LEDVANCE regularly provides products such as desk lamps for rooms and modern lighting for shared spaces.

Cornelia Fürst, Senior Manager Business Development EU-West at LEDVANCE and Past President of the Lions Club Landshut-Wittelsbach, has been closely involved in the company’s employee-led initiatives for many years. “There is nothing more meaningful than bringing a smile to a child’s face. Especially for children and young people in challenging circumstances, moments like these are never taken for granted,” she explains.

LEDVANCE plans to further expand its cooperation with the Caritas Foster Home. Alongside additional product donations, including sustainable lighting solutions, the company also envisions more joint initiatives in the future.

Andreas Adam adds: “LEDVANCE is fully committed to its sustainable mission. Sustainability is not only about environmental and economic responsibility – it also means contributing to society in a positive way. To borrow a football metaphor: we’re not just there when the stadium lights come on. We’re in it for the long run, as a reliable and committed partner.”
